Aaron Dwyer signs
Wythenshawe Town’s squad continues to be enriched with attacking prowess and flair as Aaron Dwyer joins the fray.
Dwyer’s reputation precedes him as he has enjoyed spells with the likes of Stockport Town, AFC Mossley including a prolific stint with New Mills. He has also found himself playing in the National League North with Curzon Ashton after signing from Stockport Town in 2018.
The pacey forward is predicting big things from his new employers and has already seen the vast potential within the squad to push for silverware.
“I joined Town because I feel like they have got together a side capable of winning the title. I would like to be a part of that and help push for the targets that are being set.
“We are having a good pre-season. The first sessions are always very tough because of the break but we’re all working very hard! I’ve settled in well with lads I feel very welcomed. I just can’t wait for the games to get started now.”
Manager James Kinsey divulged how his plans to sign Dwyer were thwarted last season after he had been impressed by his scintillating form at Church Lane, netting 12 goals in 11 appearances and raking in four Man of the Match awards.
“Aaron is somebody who we tried signing last year but he ended up joining Mossley. He started off on fire at New Mills before he made the move.”
The front man’s versatility and coolness in front of goal will also be key for Town if this coming season is going to bear fruit.
“He can play on either wing and can even lead the line up top. The lads have been very impressed with him in pre-season. He is quick, tricky and can finish.”
The attacker now has five pre-season games to be eased in to the fold before the frenetic league campaign gets underway.
