Ben Steer signs for Town Ben Steer signs for Town

Wythenshawe Town are delighted to announce the signing of the versatile player Ben Steer.

Steer who can play as a winger or striker joins Town from North West Counties Premier Division Side West Didsbury & Chorlton, who he took to the field and scored twice for against us in pre-season. Having dropped down a level to join the club, Steer said “I am delighted to have joined the club. After speaking to a few of the lads and the manager James Kinsey, I can see the club is going places and I wanted to be a part of the journey.”

Having been named Young Player of the year for West Didsbury & Chorlton for the 2016/17 season, Steer comes to the club in high regard with James Kinsey saying, “For people who have been around the North - West counties, I don't think Ben needs an introduction.

He is a proven player in the Premier Division so we are obviously very happy to get him on board. He was a stand-out player for West Didsbury last season and I believe he will have the same impact here at Wythenshawe. We made it clear of our ambition for this season and it is great that he shares those with us. He's chomping at the bit to get started and will go straight into Saturday's squad!”

Town’s first ever semi-professional match is this Saturday when we welcome Alsager Town to Ericstan Park, with kick-off at 3 pm.
