Jerome makes the 'Wright' choice Jerome makes the 'Wright' choice

Wythenshawe Town are delighted to announce the singing of Jerome Wright.

The wide midfielder is the second signing to arrive at Ericstan Park this month, after completing the signing of Ashley Leather from West Didsbury & Chorlton also.

Wright brings with him a wealth of experience having played at a higher level for the likes of Chester, Altrincham, FC United of Manchester and Ramsbottom United but can’t wait to get started with Town, saying “As I’m a local lad, I watched Town when I had a Saturday off during the season and was impressed. I saw the staff and a few players after the game, and they told me a bit about the clubs’ ambitions, and it was very impressive. When I found myself only coming on from the bench at Hyde, I wanted to leave to play more games. Out of all the teams who approached me Wythenshawe Town were the most persuasive and after the first training session I had to sign and get involved with this club.

I have huge goals for the future here and they should be everyone’s goals too. I want a final push for promotion and if that promotion doesn’t happen this season then it’s good to build a foundation at the very least. From then, we have to push on to be champions next season as well as see what we can do in the FA competitions. I’ve been on a few of them journeys and know what good things it can do for a club and the lads playing. I can’t wait to get started on Saturday”.

Manager James Kinsey is equally as delighted to have Wright in his squad saying “Jerome is a player that will be vital for what we are trying to achieve. We are in the process of looking to finish strongly this season and if we can manage a late push for promotion then brilliant. But the main aim is to build a squad that is ready to compete in both the league and all cup competitions next season.

We have a lot of experienced players now and there is a real buzz building around the place. We weren’t actively seeking any more players but when a player of Jerome’s standard becomes available you don’t turn your back on it. He received some very good offers off teams at a higher level but decided he wants to get involved with our plans and help us to achieve them.

We are delighted to have him in”.

If you wish to sponsor Jerome for the remainder of the 2018/2019 season, please email media@wythenshawetownfc.co.uk for further information.
