Sam Jones re-joins Town
Sam Jones returns to Wythenshawe Town two years after his initial spell was cut short by injury.
Town supporters may remember Jones when he originally arrived together with manager James Kinsey from East Manchester.
Unfortunately, the forward’s playing career was halted at the start of the 2018/19 season when he picked up a serious knee injury, but ever since, Jones has been striving to return to full fitness.
Here’s what Kinsey had to say regarding Sam’s recovery:
“Sam got in touch with me and we spoke about the potential of him coming back in. He has been out for a long time, so the questions were about his fitness. He has looked sharp in training though so hopefully he can hit the ground running.”
The Centre-Forward is a proven goal scorer, topping the goalscoring charts in the past for East Manchester; a welcome addition for Kinsey:
“There’s no doubting his ability. He is one of the best natural finishers I’ve worked with. He scores goals. It was important we got another centre forward in to add a bit of depth. If he can stay fit, he will be one of the top centre forwards at this level along with Liam Myers.”
We hope it isn’t too long before we see Sam Jones back in action for Town.
