Wythenshawe Town are delighted to announce the signing of Defender Chris Middleton.
The former Radcliffe Borough player will be looking forward to the possibility facing another of his old clubs this weekend as Town take on West Didsbury and Chorlton at Ericstan Park. Having also played for Congleton Town (where Middleton made over 100 appearances) and Winsford United, the Right Back’s experience at North West Counties level cannot be doubted.
“[James] Kinsey and Dan [Whiteside] spoke about their ambition with what they want to do with the club and it was sold to me, especially with some of the players that have already signed” said Middleton when discussing the reasons he chose to join Town.
For Kinsey and Whiteside, Middleton forms a key part of the vision they have for Wythenshawe Town and are delighted to have secured Chris’ services for the coming campaign. It is not just the defender’s footballing abilities that made the management team determined to welcome him to the club, but also his contribution to the dressing room.
“His experience around the North West Counties will be invaluable” commented Kinsey. “Chris is a fantastic defender and will be a leader for us both on and off the pitch”
Town’s season opener against Alsager Town is just over two weeks away and the players are already counting down the days until Wythenshawe Town have their first experience of Semi-Professional football.
Middleton is no different and echoes the sentiments of all Town’s summer signings so far.
“The lads have hit the ground running during pre-season and I can’t wait for the season to start now.”
