“I can’t wait to get involved and help the lads push on” the words of Wythenshawe Town’s newest signing defender Nia Bayunu.
The centre-half who has been out of football for nearly a year has had previous spells at FC United, Trafford FC, Ramsbottom United and West Didsbury & Chorlton. Nia can’t wait to get started with Wythenshawe Town stating, “I’ve joined Wythenshawe because I’m excited about the project happening at the club, they are newly promoted into the North West Counties and I’ve heard a lot of positives about the club and the way its run by friends who already play there.”
Equally manager James Kinsey is delighted to have Nia on board, saying “Nia is a player that I’ve been speaking to since pre-season. His work situation hasn’t been right but that has now changed and he is available every week. He is a leader and a very experienced lad. His fitness is a bit off, but we will have him back to full fitness in no time. We felt we needed to strengthen defensively with the injuries that we’ve had recently and Nia is somebody that we are delighted to bring into the club.”
Nia will go straight into Saturday’s squad for our match with Cheadle Heath Nomads, where a victory could see Town go top of the table. Our newest recruit has plenty of ambition saying “My aim is to help the team get promoted at the first time of asking and hopefully my experience will be beneficial to the club.”
