Eddie Cooper signs for Town

Wythenshawe Town are delighted to have completed the signing of Eddie Cooper from Ramsbottom United.

The central midfielder played an integral role in the club’s promotion push before being devastatingly cut short by the Corona virus pandemic but that has only whetted his appetite for success further.

Cooper’s stock has risen over the years, reaching the heights of the FA Vase final at Wembley with Glossop North End in 2015 – agonisingly missing out to North Shields by the narrowest of margins.

The man from Wythenshawe will be joining a midfield that is littered with talent, which speaks volumes about the calibre of player that we have got on our hands. With the amalgamation of his semi-professional experience and the exuberance already present in the squad – a formula for success is brewing at Ericstan Park.

Manager James Kinsey has lauded the new recruit and is looking forward to adding him to the roster.

“We didn’t want to rip the squad apart, we have retained the majority of last season’s squad and that was the first thing we wanted to box off. But I think it’s important to always add a bit of quality if it is available.

“Eddie is an experienced player that has a lot of energy. He fits perfectly for how we like to play. His demands of lads in training have been top class and I think he will be vital for us this season. It’s an added bonus that he is a Wythenshawe lad too.”

With pre-season only days away, now is the perfect time to show exactly why the Blues have bubbled up with him.
