Town vs Heyside preview 2
Tomorrow night, Wythenshawe Town welcome Heyside FC to Ericstan Park in this latest round of pre-season fixtures.
Following last weekend’s semi-final elimination, Town will be looking to get back into the thick of the action and return to winning ways that they have been so accustomed to this pre-season.
The step 7 outfit arrive at Ericstan Park following a difficult domestic season, but having tasted victory in the Manchester FA Challenge Cup, there is no disputing that they have quality amidst their ranks.
Manager James Kinsey has recognised this when selecting these friendly encounters and believes that they will be a good indicator of what lies ahead this year.
“Heyside are a good, established Manchester League club. They’ll be difficult to play against and similar to some sides that we play against this season.”
A number of key absentees from our disappointing Playermatch.com Cup match with Sandbach may well make a return to Kinsey’s squad, looking to gain vital minutes before embarking on our all-important league campaign.
“We’ve got four games until the season starts now so the lads know it’s getting close. They feel good but it’s important we keep taking these friendlies seriously so that we are going into this season with good momentum.”
Once again, we are allowed to welcome a maximum of 300 fans free of charge to the ground on a first come, first served basis.
A goal fest could be on the cards tomorrow night, so make sure that you’re in line!
