It was festive cheer for Wythenshawe Town as they ran out 3-1 winners over Denton Town thanks to goals from Isaac Graham, Saul Brew-Butler and Will Harney.
It was a very even affair to start, with the first chance of the game not coming until the 9th minute when Godfred Amankwaa managed to turn his marker and found himself in the clear but he pulled his effort from the edge of the area just wide of the upright.
On 16 minutes though the hosts did take the lead when midfielder Isaac Graham picked up the ball 25 yards from goal and his curling effort gave Denton goalkeeper Mark Dilnlitt no chance and found the top corner.
Wythenshawe continued on the front foot and could have doubled their advantage, firstly, when striker Godfred Amankwaa found himself unmarked in the penalty area but his effort from close range was well saved by Dilnlitt and then just before the break Andrew Robertson saw his strike from range go just over the top of the crossbar.

After the break, it continued a very even affair and the visitors equalised with the first notable chance of the half, after a free kick from Alex Beesley was played into the box it was flicked on and fell to Will Anderson who headed the ball over the Ben Daniels.
After the goal Wythenshawe continued to put the pressure on and on 77 minutes they had the opportunity to re-take the lead after substitute Syrone Allen found himself free down the right and pulled the ball back to Dan King but his effort went just inches wide of Dilnlitt’s far post.
Heading into the last 10 minutes and with the score line all level, the hosts won a corner which Will Harney took and after a goalmouth scramble the ball fell to Saul Brew-Butler who managed to poke home and give Wythenshawe the lead again, before just into stoppage time Harney ensured all 3 points when he was found in the penalty area and he drilled his effort into the roof of the net giving Dilnlitt no chance.
