The Wythenshawe local has impressed in the pre season games he has played so far, also grabbing himself a goal on Tuesdays game against Warrington Town.
A gifted Centre Midfielder with an eye for goal, the 27 year old adds more strength to Kinsey's squad, whilst providing great experience. Hewitt spoke about what tempted him to join Town with several others chasing his signature.
"I'm a Wythenshawe boy so to be given the chance to help your home town team get promoted and up the leagues was too good to turn down. I'm a ball playing midfielder, well try to be, so hopefully I’ll be able to help get the team playing some good, entertaining football that can hopefully get the fans off their seats."
Hewitt was a professional for Burnley FC and he has a wealth of experience, having played for Southport, Accrington Stanley and Bangor City. The 27 year old joins us from Aberystwyth Town in the Welsh Premier League where he played last season.
"Straight and simple, I'm here to win the league and get promoted. I think if anyone isn’t expecting us to do that, then they're at the wrong club.
"Pre season has been good, I’ve enjoyed it. I just can’t wait for the season to start now and start getting those points on the board."
With the arrival of Hewitt, James Kinsey has spoke of the impact he feels Hewitt will have.
"His intelligence on the ball will be vital to all that we do this season. He can use both feet equally as well so he gives us a lot of balance in central areas. It's another local lad in the ranks too. That's important to us as it enables our fans to relate.
"You can tell he's played at a very good level and he isn't even at full fitness yet. I think he will be exceptional for us."
